Revelstoke BC
Revelstoke was quite comfortably our favourite skiing in Canada, what a place! Quirky, great snow, massive varied terrain and some amazing runs. Revelstoke town is a nice wee place with everything you need and lots of places to eat and drink. We loved Revelstoke so much we went twice.

Revelstoke's Lifts
On paper there aren’t many lifts but the few that there are access a huge amount of terrain. The only big ques we saw were at the bottom of the Revelation gondola, get there early on a powder day!
The Stoke chair is pretty fast. The Ripper is fast enough. The Gondola’s are good too. It would be good if they built another chair to take some of the burden away from the Stoke chair as that is a bit of a bottleneck. There is a huge amount of terrain they could expand into, hopefully they will.
Revelstoke's Best Runs
There really is an amazing amount of terrain and lines, it is mind boggling. We skied there a lot and still feel that we have a huge amount still to ski, especially in the lower 2/3 of the hill. Some of the best runs we had were at Revelstoke.
The Greely bowl was the best area we skied in Canada. It has great snow, fantastic steeps and varied lines. We saw lots of people walking over the side of the hill with their skis on their shoulders, when we first got to the top of the stoke chair and eventually did the same, the Greely bowl is accessed by skiing round the ridge from there. Amazing.
The Powder Monkey glades and glades of Glory accessed from the Ripper chair are both great fun with tons of lines.
The North bowl area has tons of great runs too.
The “Conifers of Gnarnia glades” is the best name for a ski run!
Pretty much the whole hill is amazing, there are too many bits to list. You could ski it everyday for years and still be finding new lines.
Revelstoke's Snow
The snow is fantastic and stays cold and dry for a good few days after a fresh fall. It snowed most days we were there (we stayed 15 and skied 12).
Unlike other resorts that seem to just make up how much it has snowed overnight, Revelstoke has its own snowfall marker- Norm the powdergnome. Everyday at 3.30pm they clear the snow around the gnome and you can look at how much it has snowed on a live webcam. The gnome is 27cm tall so if its over his head its pow time! Revelstoke's Food
The Taco club has some great Mexican food. The spicy coconut prawn tacos are immense.
Paramjits Kitchen has some really varied Indian food with influences from all over. Some great eats.
Craft Bierhaus looks like a German beer hall and have a huge selection of beers. They do a bizarre menu of macaroni cheeses served in metal skillets. They have loads of different versions or you can select your own ingredients, pretty good.
Conversations coffee shop have great coffee and one of the best Tiramisu cakes ever. We went back for the cake on multiple occasions.
The Cabin has mini bowling and a great bar.
Traverse (great name for a nightclub in a ski resort) is a good wee nightclub, they had scratch djs when we were there.
Revelstoke's (budget) Accommodation
We stayed at Poppi’s guesthouse both times we were there and both times it was great. Close to the town centre, quiet comfy private rooms and a real homely feel in the sitting rooms and kitchen. Highly recommended, a real home from home. Link to Poppi's Guesthouse

Revelstoke Review
Revelstoke is a friendly town where people are helpful and happy. Vahalla Pure was a particularly good ski shop with brilliant staff and owners, we both ended up buying skis there.
The ski hill was the best we went to in Canada. We skied 12 days there. So many lines still to be explored. Brilliant snow. Tons of steeps. Amazing scenery.
Revelstoke is brilliant, really brilliant. Take me back!
