The Atomic Revent Q Testing
Testing has taken place in 3 weeks of variable conditions. From heavy snow in Japan, bluebird sun in France and variable Scottish conditions. They have performed excellently in them all.
Atomic Revent Q- out of the box
Revent Q goggles have two lenses. In this test, a Cat 3 lens in orange (15% VLT) and a Cat 1 low light lens (56% VLT). A plastic hard case for protecting the spare lens is included, this is brilliant for the lens not in use when on the hill or when transporting them.
The fit is very good from the outset. They have used a "live fit" system which uses three layers of foam to mould to your face. The goggle strap has a silicone coating for wearing with a helmet and can be adjusted to be long enough to fit over a helmet comfortably (something that other goggles have failed on).
First impressions were good!

Atomic Revent Q Lens
The spherical lens provide good peripheral vision. The Lenses come with a mirror finish and 100% UV protection.
Low light lens (56% VLT)
I prioritise a low light lens over a sun one. Being able to see in flat and low light conditions is more stressful for me than sunny conditions. A cheap lens will often be fine in bright conditions. Skiing in Scotland where sunny days can be a rarity also adds to the low light lenses importance.
The lens has been fantastic in variable conditions where it can switch from overcast to sunny conditions quickly. Mirrored lens finish stops the sun blinding you and sporadic sunlight is fine. That has been a failure in previous goggles, where a glint of sun in a low light lens has lead to the sun dazzling me blind.
Atomic's lenses come with an Anti scratch coating and are impact resistant. I have tested both these with a tree branch smashing into the lens in both Furano and more recently in Serre Chevalier. Still no marks or scratches. I've been very careful not to wipe the goggle lens if they have water or snow on them as the mirror finish might not last if rubbed. They haven't fogged up at all and clear very quickly if you breath into them by accident.
The low light lens is a great everyday lens in everything but strong sun and performed in all but those conditions very well. The lens has a blue tint to its vision that I was unsure of before getting on the slopes, I would usually go for rose tint but it is great at accentuating snow marks and conditions. The low light lens is very impressive.

Sun Lens (13% VLT)
In bright sun the lens is superb with great clarity of vision. I've only used this on bluebird days where it excels. The biggest compliment would be that you forget you are wearing it and never find yourself straining due to bright light. Again, I have been very careful not to rub the lens when it gets wet. After a particularly good face plant in soft snow where the goggle was totally covered, it was quick to dry and easy to dab with the supplied cloth. The finish is very striking and really stands out, with a really bright orange mirror that changes colour depending on the angle you look at it.

Changing lenses
The Atomic lens change system is very easy and simple to change. Push down posts at the corners of the lens to release them. By pushing the top and bottom of the posts the goggle lens pops off and you put the next one on by pushing it in and letting it click into place. The lens have little clasps built into them, these clip into the goggle frame. Probably best to keep your hand in front of the lens when changing them as they really pop off. Better to wait until after the chairlift rather than sending them into orbit!
In comparison to the Oakley flight deck who's lens change was a mystery initially, they really are a breeze to change. They are also much less fiddly and feel more secure than Smiths lock system. A true changeable lens goggle.

Atomic Revent Q Goggle Overall
A high performance goggle with two great looking and more importantly solid performing lenses. They are comfortable and the foam never feels scratchy. Helmet compatibility is good and the fit under the brim of my K2 is seamless. The cloth bag doubles as a lens cleaner. No hard case is supplied so this will have to be bought separately. There doesn't seem to be replacement lenses available which will be a problem in the long run. Hopefully these will become available soon.
Atomic have always been a solid name in the world of skiing and these goggles live up to that name.
