It's difficult to write anything about Cairngorm without it becoming a moan about mismanagement and loss of potential. Cairngorm is the closest resort to us but we never go here, we've been three times since the last time we paid to ski there in 2012, twice with free tickets and the other to tour during the pandemic.
Cairngorm Lifts
The main lift at Cairngorm is the funicular railway, an expensive folly that while writing this is closed for repair. Many of the lifts in the Coire Ciste side were bull dozed a few years back which left that side of the mountain a bit bereft of uplift. The rest of the mountain is served by drag lifts.

Cairngorm Best runs
The Ciste side always seems to hold the best snow but now has the least uplift. The white lady is probably the most famous Cairngorm run and one of the best, the funicular unfortunately has scythed through it to its detriment.

Cairngorm overall
Potentially a great place to ski so hopefully a community buy out or similar will happen in the next few years so that it can prosper again. HIE mis-management has ruined the place (the on mountain staff are very good in contrast to this) .
